Innovative Staff Solutions is Hiring a Quality Engineer Near Springfield, IL

Innovative Staff Solutions has a direct hire opportunity for a Quality Engineer with a client in the Springfield, IL area! This is a full-time position with a leading employer that offers a competitive salary and benefits package!

The Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that products are developed, produced, and tested in compliance with all client requirements, performance specifications, regulatory agency, and safety requirements. The Quality Engineer shall lead Quality Engineering efforts throughout product development and production lifecycle. This includes assisting with the development of product requirements and specifications; ensuring project compliance to internal and external standards; coordinating risk analysis activities; creating and managing the quality engineering deliverables; owning and driving corrective and preventive actions; and generating/coordinating verification and validation activities. The Quality Engineer will also drive continual improvement activities to improve customer satisfaction, first pass yield, out of box audit, and compliance to agency and safety requirements as well as working directly with the production group to ensure fixtures and test equipment are at optimal performance.

Duties

  • Develop quality procedures, production processes and inspection/test procedures for our clients retail products to ensure compliance to all client and agency requirements
  • Develop procedures and ensure ongoing compliance to ISO 9001 requirements
  • Support agency, customer, and ISO 9002 audits as required
  • Participate and champion design and process FMEAs, Risk Analysis, and Control Plans. Follow up as required throughout the project life cycle to ensure effectiveness of risk mitigation activities
  • Participate in product design and manufacturing process reviews for all BUNN retail products. Develop effective Process Control Plans to ensure process capability and process controls are in place
  • Support the transition of new retail products into production by providing documentation and assistance to ensure production start-up issues are resolved in a timely manner
  • Develop procedures, controls and auditing programs to ensure that suppliers for both component parts and finished products have documented quality programs in place and being used on a daily basis
  • Establish standards, polices and procedures to ensure compliance with the Client Quality Policy and Supplier Quality Manual
  • Report to client’s supplier management personnel all relevant quality related issues on a regular basis
  • Develop, implement and monitor continuous improvement activities
  • Develop, implement and monitor controls to ensure adherence to quality assurance procedures and policies
  • Provide Quality Assurance leadership on multi-disciplinary teams as required to analyze and reduce field failure rates
  • Coordinate quality problem resolutions within the assembly facilities
  • Prepare or direct the preparation of periodic quality assurance status reports to management recommending quality improvements in purchased materials, product design or manufacturing processes
  • Ensure adequate staffing, training, development and motivation of quality assurance personnel
  • Develop and implement statistical methods where required to improve product quality and reliability
  • Travel as required to various component part suppliers
  • Provide regular quality reports describing quality issues and status of corrective actions

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other technical field from an accredited college or university
  • ASQ Certification as a Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) a plus
  • Thorough knowledge of ISO 9001:2015
  • Strong statistical and computer skills
  • Demonstrated project management and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated communication, facilitation and leadership skills
  • Self motivated and capable of working at a high level with minimal supervision
  • Able to travel both domestically and on a global basis
