Environments is the sister company to Innovative Sight & Sound, a premier home automation and home theater integrator in the Southeast with locations in Atlanta, GA - Birmingham, AL - Charleston, SC - Destin, FL and Tampa, FL.

TECHNICIAN JOB DESCRIPTION

Innovative Environments technicians are responsible for running cables, installing and programming devices such as motorized shades and draperies, lighting fixtures and panels as well as exterior lighting and shades products.

This candidate can listen well, communicate well and work in a team environment taking instruction and desiring to improve their skill sets.

The technician position is hands-on and will involve installing state-of-the-art systems in private residences and commercial spaces. We work on high-profile projects that require exceptional service and excellent attention to detail.

Technician Tasks:

  • Provide exceptional customer service as you safely load, transport, and deliver items to customers' homes.
  • Variety of installations: motorized shades and draperies, lighting fixtures and panels as well as exterior lighting and shades products
  • Familiar with pre-wire environments and new construction homes and safety protocols and best practices.
  • Read blueprints and wire a house or commercial property accordingly.
  • Experience with low voltage wiring, trim and final install processes.
  • Networking background to include wiring, installation, and programming of wireless access points, routers, and switches a plus
  • Experience with Audio/Video installs shade solutions, CCTV IP camera wiring, and installation a plus.
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving issues with programming, installation, or maintenance.

  • Ability to work well with others, have a customer service-oriented mindset, and strong work ethic.

  • Candidates must have reliable transportation and basic tools for working with low-voltage equipment.

Requirements

  • Lutron lighting and shade solutions installation, setup, and programming Networking experience with switches, POE devices, network components, configuration, programming, and troubleshooting.
  • Confident in various device setups, media rooms, retrofits, a/v racks, pre-wires, and wire paths, system integration.
  • Able to reverse engineer and troubleshoot systems in order to determine the cause of issues and solutions to remedy
  • Automation system installation, setup, configuration, programming, and troubleshooting (ex: Control4, Crestron, Savant, AMX)
  • Work safely on ladders, scaffolding, and scissors lifts
  • Knowledge of low-voltage cabling and standards
  • Signal flow and troubleshooting skills
