Data Entry Technician

Mission

Enter orders accurately and efficiently in order to correctly provide medications to our customers.

Duties and responsibilities

• Input customer and prescription data into the computer system

o Ensure accuracy: right patient, right facility, right payor, right physician, right drug, right strength, right quantity, right SIG

• Ensure prompt service by assisting customers via phone

o Work directly with customer facilities to enter accurate information

o Respond to customer requests in a timely manner

• Work to meet daily SLA

o Work with order entry team to ensure new and refill orders entered before cut-off time

o Escalate any issues to Data Entry Lead or Pharmacist

• Participate in required training

o Attend all necessary training sessions

o Review and follow all applicable policies and procedures

• Provide Back-Up Customer Service Functions

o Participate in required Customer Service training sessions

• Utilize Lean Concepts to improve processes

o Document issues and suggestions using CPAS and Rapid Improvements

o Follow documented procedures to ensure consistency

• Troubleshoot any order issues as needed

• Other duties as assigned

• Voluntary on-call

Qualifications

• Active pharmacy technician license from the Indiana State Board of Pharmacy

Working conditions

The normal working hours for a Data Entry Technician are generally Monday through Friday from 9:00AM-6:00PM, but may be adjusted on a case-by-case basis.

This position may also include sitting for long periods of time.
