Innovative Metal Industries, Inc. is Hiring a Project Foreman Near Houston, TX

Manufacturing company is looking for a Project Foreman that oversees a team with Project builds that are both new construction and tenant improvement in high security, technical facilities such as data centers. These project durations fluctuate from one week to one year and located nationally. Project Foreman are required to travel. Housing, travel and daily stipend included. Projects may include design/build work generally related to metal and plastic fabricated products.
Job Title: Project Foreman
Weekly Salary: $1923.08 - $2211.54 DOE

Summary/Objective
Coordinate operations and oversee employees at numerous construction sites. The liaison between workers and management, the foreman will be the key person in charge of overseeing the completion of the project with a keen awareness of material expenses, labor hours, and employee safety.
Essential Functions

  • Oversee and ensure that all safety rules are being followed at all times
  • Produce work schedules in accordance with the availability of employees, labor laws and monitor the attendance of crew
  • Coordinate daily tasks according to priorities and plans, adjusting as necessary due to weather, supply delivery, and personnel
  • Ability to delegate responsibilities and individual projects to the employees as determined by their capabilities and the general requirements of specific work projects and site parameters and contractors.
  • Manage mentor and train employees whenever they join the team and provide employees with continuing education according to the latest industry requirements in order that all work meets the most current specifications.
  • Provide for adequate resources and staffing to meet safety needs, regulations, best practices, and project schedule
  • Emphasis on the safe use of tools, machinery, and equipment including training on safety gear, helmets, and procedures
  • Develop and oversee quality standards on job site
  • Monitor and manage project budgets on job site
  • Resolve conflicts or miscommunication that may happen on-site quickly and amicably
  • Report project status to supervisors, site engineers and management regularly
  • Meet with other managers/supervisors and necessary personnel as required in order to fully resolve conflicts, complications and other issues according to company and client standards/requirements.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by supervision

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction best practices, equipment maintenance, and use, and OSHA guidelines
  • Ability to read drawings, plans, and blueprints and convey this information to others
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to communicate and report effectively
  • Able to give direction and make decisions related to finances, the company’s reputation and employees
  • Ability to work in high-stress conditions and quickly changing environments
  • Aptitude in math and strong problem-solving abilities
  • Must have a valid drivers license and a safe driving record
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High School Graduate and/or GED
  • Preferably 4 years' experience as a construction foreman or 2-5 years of construction experience and/or relative experience
SUPERVISION
Position reports directly to the Manager and is under his/her general direction.
TRAVEL
Frequent travel is required
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Communicates effectively in both oral and written communications. Communicates with people outside the Company, representing the Company to customers, the public and other external sources. Communicates with supervisor, peers and other Company staff working as part of a team contributing to Company goals.
REASONING ABILITY
Must be able to work with either verbal and/or written direction to produce an acceptable work product with minimal supervision. Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw conclusions drawing upon experience, research and input from peers. This position may perform multiple job tasks on a daily basis.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, and squatting
  • Must be able to lift-up to 50 pounds regularly daily
  • Frequently required to walk, reach with arms and use both hands
  • Must be able to climb ladders and work at different heights
  • Must be able to work extended hours when necessary
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • May spend some time in a climate-controlled environment
  • Occasionally looking at a computer screen, keyboarding and using a mouse.
  • Must be able to work under pressure, particularly when faced with a tight deadline.
  • May be exposed to loud noises, hazardous materials, dust, fumes and/or exposed to mechanical parts and vehicles.
