Innovative Eye Care is Charlotte’s premier eye health and eyewear boutique, located in the heart of the Dilworth neighborhood. We are unique in that we tailor each experience to the specific patient. We provide our patients with the latest technology, the highest quality personalized service and the most fun and stylish eyewear experience. We were humbly awarded National Optical Design of the Year and have also been featured in 20/20 Magazine, the premier optical industry publication.

Job Responsibilities:

The Optometric Technician’s primary responsibilities will be assisting our doctors with patient care. As we continue to grow, this person may also be asked to support other areas of the practice, primarily front desk related responsibilities.

Detailed responsibilities include:

  • Pre-testing including autorefraction, topography, retinal imaging and other testing as necessary
  • Preparing the exam room for the patient
  • Taking patient history
  • Assisting the doctors during the exam as needed
  • Ordering contact lenses
  • Assist with contact lens training
  • Answering the phones
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Obtaining insurance authorizations
  • Reviewing insurance benefits with patients
  • Other responsibilities as needed

Preferred Qualities:

  • Previous eye care experience is required
  • Selfless team player who is assertive, goal-oriented, positive and self-motivated
  • Desire to work in a dynamic, fun, and fast-paced environment
  • Strong ability to multi-task
  • Comfort in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of integrity
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Sense of humor
  • Flexibility to work evening and/or weekend hours
