Join our small team that makes world class Audio/Video hardware and software for the Business Jet industry. We are looking to add a Director of Engineering to our staff. This position is performed onsite from our Kirkland office.

What you will do:

• Develop, evolve, define, and ensure adherence to engineering and product development practices at IA; SW practices, product development methodology evolution, layout standards, FPGA practices, and standards for specifications and verification
• Ensure engineering alignment on priorities, product/project intent, specifications
• Foster engineering success at the project and individual level: coaching up or out for IA way of taking ownership of individual's sphere of influence; asking the right questions so that engineers come to solution: fostering group discussions to gather feedback and consensus on decisions; and asking the right questions to get the team on the right decision - even if a topic outside of one's experience
• Provide personal development for engineers including candid, concise feedback on performance, things to improve, things failing at, realignment with IA Practices. Foster engineering skills/knowledge growth
• Identify needs - resource, tools, etc. - within the engineering group - both current and roadmap needs - and drive acquiring what's needed
• Work with Customer Solutions and Operations groups with quoting, development, qualification, and go to production of new opportunities
• Follow industry news and attend major tradeshows to help guide the product roadmap
• Provide technical leadership for subject area - Subject Matter Experts
• Work collaboratively to develop product strategy/development roadmap

Required Qualifications:

• 10 years’ experience as an individual contributor engineer
• 10 years in engineering management role
• Experience with hardware and software products

Desirable Qualifications:

• Experience with embedded products
• Aerospace, defense, medical, or other industries with certification, high reliability, critical components, etc.
• Experience working at both large and small companies
