Direct Care Technician – Innova Joy

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Follow procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with standards
• Administer medication to clients (Medication pass experience preferred)
• Deliver quality care to clients in a Partial Hospitalization Program
• Ensure 100% accountability of clients at all times
• Provide appropriate documentation as needed
• Work cooperatively with team members in the provision of services to meet the goals developed in the treatment plan
• Lead mental health groups following a provided curriculum
• Ensure safety of Clients and Facilities by following established protocols
• May be required to transport or assist with Client transport using Company vehicle
• Be available and respond in times of crisis or in intense situations
• Provide empathetic support while maintaining professional and ethical boundaries
• Assist with meal preparing, serving, and clean-up as needed
• Attend to facility standards; general and orderly cleaning

• Complete required reports and checklists
• Complete any additional tasks assigned by leadership

• Basic knowledge of mental health and emotional, physical, and personal boundaries
• Dependable and consistent in attendance for scheduled shifts

• Working knowledge of Electronic Medical Record
• Knowledge of ethical code and requirements of mandated reporting
• Work collaboratively to meet team goals and expectations

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least 21 years of age (required)

• High School graduate (required)
• Current and valid drivers license
• knowledge of mental health practices (experienced) 
• Prior residential experience preferred
• Certification as a Medical Assistant - MA (preferred), Certified Medication Aide - CMA (preferred), Certified Mental Health Technician - CMHT (preferred)
• Post high school medical education (para-professional nursing, medical, and/or technical)
• Licensed Vocational Nurse students, Social Work students, Psychology and counsleing students
• Must be able to climb stairs (two-story house)
• First aid/C.P.R. (preferred)

Physical Requirements:

• Stepping backward.
• Grasping.
• Bending at the waist and knees.
• Lower 30-50 pounds to the ground.
• Must be able to get up and down from the floor without assistance.
• Full range of motion in both arms and both legs.
• Must be able to do a deep reverse lunge.
