As a Sr. Staff/Staff Engineer, RF Product & Test Development, you will be a member of the Product Development and Test Engineering team and a key contributor to the test of RF hardware circuits and systems from initial concept through production. This person must have strong technical skills and knowledge, be passionate about design and innovation, work effectively with limited information, share technical expertise with others and be creative problem solvers and effective communicators.

This is a full-time position based in San Diego, CA.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for RF circuits design verification, debug and characterization on bench, collaborating with multi-functional teams including design, PTE, PCB design, Firmware and Software teams
• In-depth knowledge of LNA, TIA, ADC architecture and key parameter testing. Working knowledge of PA key parameter testing and optimization
• Solid understanding of RF tests such as Noise Figure, SNR, THD, IP2/IP3, EVM, ACLR etc. Experience with ADC test IS A MUST. Experience with high-speed digital tests such as jitter, eye diagram, BERT is a plus
• Experience and hands-on knowledge of 3GPP conformance test and system integration test for Radio Unit (2G/3G/4G/5G)
• Analyze and troubleshoot complex RF system and circuits, including identifying and solving technical issues related to NF, sensitivity, THD, blocking performance etc.
• Develop and improve test automation scripts, equipment drivers for equipment such as: Vector Network Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, high speed oscilloscope, power meter, signal generators etc.

Job Requirements

• BS in EE/CS is required and MS in EE/CS is preferred with 10 plus years of experience
• Bench test automation script development experience, especially in Python and MATLAB
• Familiar with Gitlab, process-oriented program development, program release and version control
• Good problem-solving skills and excellent team player
• Excellent communication skills and documentation skills 

Desirable Skills

• Experience with writing and debugging firmware implementation and test cases for SoC / digital hardware verification is highly desirable
• Good understanding of semiconductor product development flow
• Experienced with bench to ATE correlation is a plus
• Able to work effectively with incomplete or changing requirements
• Multi-tasking, details-oriented, result driven
