Position Summary

This position will perform the development, implementation, maintenance, security and use of technology throughout the company. You will address user concerns to completion, or by escalating to others in the department, by utilizing existing knowledge, company wiki, collaborating with colleagues, the Internet, vendor support, etc. Advise the full range of information systems and telecommunications activities, including determining user requirements, recommending practical solutions, testing, and leading company-wide efforts to improve the effective use of technology. Supervise IT and control the hardware, software, networks, and systems to ensure the integrity and security by following policy, procedures, diagnostics, testing, monitoring, vulnerabilities, performance, disaster recovery, government requirements and other information and metrics. Support department activities of training, budgeting, audits, policy creation and enforcement, surveys, learning emerging technologies, automating and other non-IT tasks. Provide Senior Management feedback in evaluating current systems and aligning technology objectives with the company mission and strategic objectives. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Administration and Configuration; servers, operating systems, virtual machines, network hardware, telecommunication, mobile devices, software deployment, and storage arrays.
  • Security; endpoint protection, network protection, vulnerability management, patch management, updates, baseline management, risk assessments.
  • Monitoring; integrity and availability of all hardware, software, server, systems, and key processes.
  • Support; all tiers for all systems, ticket management, prioritization, troubleshooting, testing, escalation to vendors, and communication.
  • Compliance; execute, maintain, and enforce governmental compliance regulations, and verification and validation.
  • Training; on-boarding/off-boarding, end user, IT policies and procedures, security, and business applications.
  • Inventory; maintain asset inventory of hardware and software, keep IT room and self-service consumables organized, and yearly inventory audits.
  • Documentation; SOP, HW/SW configuration baselines, risk assessments, change management, network diagrams, software licenses, compliance artifacts, etc.
  • Continuous Improvement; evaluate and recommend new software, hardware, systems, services, or upgrades, and mentor other IT personnel.
  • Projects; assist with or lead technology projects.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as they may be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in computer networks and systems maintenance.
  • Understanding of computer hardware and software troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality with all data and personnel.
  • Ability to take direction and work independently on varied tasks with adequate support.
  • Work on a multi-disciplinary team, in a rapid development environment to integrate, deploy, and support complex SW/HW based systems.
  • Knowledge of networking, switches, firewalls a plus.
  • Knowledge of using an issue tracking system a plus.
  • Knowledge of multi-factor authentication a plus.
  • Knowledge of logging a plus.
  • Knowledge of PBX and VoIP systems a plus.
  • Knowledge of encryption a plus.
  • Knowledge of Internet safety and good cyber hygiene a plus.
  • Current security clearance or eligibility for a government security clearance is required.

The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
