As a Med Tech, you will assist our residents, ensuring their medication plan is appropriately executed while making meaningful connections with each resident.

Position Overview:Hiring Immediately - Full-Time Med-Techs

Third Shift: 10pm-6am

12 Hour Shift: 7pm-7am

Responsibilities and Duties

• Build meaningful relationships with residents and their families as you provide assistance with activities of daily living
• Provide residents with medication administration and treatment assistance and services according to the health care provider's orders
• Supervise residents who self-administer medication while following community and regulatory guidelines
• Report any changes in residents' physical condition and/or behaviors
• Maintain resident records regarding medication distribution, leisure activities, incidents, and observations
• Provide assistance as needed with medication reminders, bathing, grooming, dressing, escort service, and other activities of daily living.
• Follow the schedule of resident's needs set out by supervisor- document daily log of assistance.
• Provide emotional and social support to residents.
• Support the dining staff and possibly assist in the dining room, possibly assist with laundry needs of the community or residents.
• Respect and encourage the independence and dignity of the residents, respect residents' confidentiality.
• Be familiar and comfortable with emergency equipment and procedures.
• Strive to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices.
• Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, families, and co-workers.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures of the Community.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Two-three years of Med Tech/Caregiver experience is required
• Experience working with the elderly and those with memory impairment
• Certified Medication Technician / CNA preferred
• CPR & AER Certified preferred, or must become certified within 90 days of hire

Physical Requirements:

• Must have the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs. frequently and 40 lbs. occasionally.
• Must be able to transport residents via wheelchair or shower chair, pushing up to 150 lbs. unassisted.
• Must be able to transfer, lift, turn and position a resident weighing up to 125 lbs. unassisted, or with the assistance of one for a resident weighing over 125 lbs.
• Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time
