Surgical Assistant

Oral and Facial Surgery-Center is seeking a professional and dynamic individual for full time position.

Responsibilities and Duties

Job Description and summary:

- Patient care with the highest level of professionalism and personalized attention.

- Preparation of surgical rooms and anesthesia supplies and equipment for surgery

- Surgical and anesthesia assisting

- Consultations and post operative assisting

- Sterilization of surgical instruments

- Patient recovery and surgical instructions prior to discharge

- Preparation for patient Post operative visits

- Scheduling patient appointments

- Obtaining X-rays / CBCT and patient photos graphics records

- Obtaining dental impressions ( traditional and intra-oral scanning)

- Stocking and organization of supplies and inventory

- Charting of patient conditions and transcribing doctor notes

Qualifications and Skills

Absolute Qualifications and requirements for consideration (lack thereof need not apply) :

• At least 1 year of Oral Maxillofacial / dental implant surgery assisting (OMSA or DAANCE certificate)
• Surgical Technologist Certificate (a plus)
• California Dental X-ray / radiology license
• Strong vocabulary and communication skills
• High school graduate and above level of education
• Typing speed of at least 40 wpm
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• A sound knowledge of medical and dental terminology.
• Medical and dental billing knowledge is of benefit
• Previous sales experience may have transferable skills.
