Under the direction of the Director, Health Equity Operations the Program Manager - Community Advisory Committee will be responsible for managing the operations of the Community Advisory Committee (CAC) in compliance with all statutory, rule, and contract requirements including initiation, planning, development, and monitoring of the committee ensuring a successful deployment.

This position will provide expertise and knowledge to support management processes for the CAC. The initiatives assigned for this position of Program Manager - Community Advisory Committee will generally be high to critical/complex and will require the person to be self-motivated and able to research, analyze and develop options to address these complex problems. This position will act as a liaison between several functional departments for related activities to ensure projects and issues are tracked, updated, and reported out frequently as scheduled. This position will involve communications of projects and issue management at the Manager, Director, and Chief levels.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish/Chinese/Vietnamese) - written and verbal skills preferred
  • Five (5) years of experience with a health plan, program or clinical environment working with culturally diverse and marginalized populations is required
  • Two (2) years of experience in a project coordination. Experience in addressing issues of cultural and linguistic competency, minority populations, and racial and ethnic disparities in health care
  • Experience in managed care and/or government programs preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Human Services, Psychology or closely related field from an accredited institution required
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred

Key Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Medi-Cal and Medicare preferred. Knowledge of cultural humility concepts, Americans with Disabilities Act principles and equity and diversity best practices in healthcare impacting racial, sex and gender minorities and populations with limited English proficiency.
  • Understands health care services for seniors and persons with disabilities (SPD).
  • Understanding and sensitivity to multi-cultural communities. Strong interpersonal skills, strong project management skills, and strong issue management skills.
  • Microcomputer applications: spreadsheet, database, and word processing. Must have excellent writing, interpersonal communication, and organizational skills.
  • A high degree of patience; attention to detail; ability to work in changing, fast-paced environment.
  • Must support a culture of collaboration.
  • Strong ability to translate data into meaningful and actionable information.
