Who we are: We are a brand new, local, Director/owner operated school and not being tied to a corporate entity or a franchise enables us to give our teachers and educators the opportunities and support they need to be the best they can be!

General Description: As a Program Supervisor, you will spend 50% of your weekly operating hours guiding the planning of curriculum philosophy, implementation, and environmental design of the program. You will partner with the Director to coordinate administrative functions to ensure program adherence to state licensing guidelines.You will spend the remainder of your 50% of weekly operating hours supporting classroom teams based on emerging needs. You will also serve as decision maker and person in charge in the absence of the Director. Those who are successful in this role are passionate about early childhood education, self-motivated, highly organized, results driven, collaborative team players, and able to manage competing priorities.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Support classroom teams with emerging needs, including teaching needs and maintenance of class ratios.
  • In partnership with teachers, guide curriculum planning for the program and ensure classrooms are creating an engaging, age-appropriate learning environment that meets the developmental, educational, and sensory needs of each child.
  • Support children’s assessments in collaboration with teaching and support staff using observation, data collection, ASQ standards, WA State Early Learning Guidelines, and other assessment tools.
  • Evaluate students needing additional support and oversee individualized plans to achieve child success while consulting with the Director.
  • Observe and mentor staff, including training new staff.
  • Create and maintain systems for organizing information and supplies required for center operations.
  • Keep allergy and medical lists current.
  • Ensure medication management procedures and care plans are followed; manage expired medications.
  • Keep emergency contacts and pick-up lists current.
  • Oversee building and playground health and safety.
  • Ensure compliance with health policy, disaster plan, and inspection requirements.
  • Eagerness to continue learning and dedication to continuous improvement in the field. Responsible for having their own professional development progress, including in-service training hours, documented annually in MERIT.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least eighteen years old, a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Registered in MERIT, including cleared background check cleared
  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) state certificate or equivalent as approved and verified in MERIT, OR, must have completed at least 45 college quarter credits in early childhood education core competencies as approved and verified in MERIT. BA/BE preferred.
  • 2 years of experience as a teacher of children in any age group enrolled in an early learning program
  • Completed DCYF provided orientation for early learning program
  • 30 hours of childcare basics (STARS) or equivalent
  • TB test in the last 12 months
  • First Aid/CPR/ Blood Borne Pathogens
  • COVID vaccine with proof
  • Food Handlers Permit
  • Familiar with WAC codes
  • Most importantly, a passion for early childhood education

Physical Demands: To perform the job, the employee must be able to lift and potentially carry a child weighing up to 50 pounds, routinely kneel, bend, crouch, and sit on the floor for extended periods and stand, walk, and sit on child-sized chairs throughout the day.

Working Conditions: The work is typically performed in an early childhood school environment, with moderate to loud noise.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
