InHome Connect is Hiring a Palliative Care Operations Specialist Near Evansville, IN

Palliative Care Operations Specialist:
Qualification and Education Requirements :
  • Degree in health care or related field preferred
  • Current Driver's License & Reliable Transportation
  • Must provide ongoing valid and current auto liability insurance
  • At least three (3) to five (5) years of experience in health care, preferably in hospice operations
  • Knowledge of corporate business management, governmental regulations and private payer practices
  • Experience with EMR software is a plus
Essential Duties:
  • Coordinates referral information, receives required information from referral sources, enters information into EMR, and collaborates with clinical team in a timely manner.
  • Interacts with other staff to ensure all patients advance through the registration process and are scheduled to be seen in a timely manner.
  • Verifies insurance benefits and pre-authorization as required by specific insurance plans.
  • Receives inbound calls and places outbound calls to patients.
  • Develops and maintains effective working relationships with Physicians, Case Managers, Managed Care Organizations, and other pertinent payer/referral sources.
  • Maintains and always protects the confidentiality of patient information, enforces patient rights regarding privacy, personal property, and grievances.
  • Update and monitor patient statuses based on provider feedback.
  • Communicates timely and accurately with referral sources and other departments to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
  • Ensures all documents are received from third parties and internal documents are completed to process referral and admissions.
  • Provides effective communication with patient/family, team members, and other healthcare professionals to educate on insurance benefits.
  • Complies with Medicare, Medicaid, and HIPAA regulations and requirements always.
  • Performs other duties as required.
