Infusion4Health Inc is Hiring a Patient Financial Counselor Near Brea, CA

Infusion for Health is a referral-based infusion center that services all providers in multiple locations in California, Arizona, Nevada, Washington, Colorado, and Missouri. Our center is unique and offers individual comfortable private rooms for our patients. Our mission is to provide exceptional service in the administration of infusion therapy in a comfortable, patient-focused environment by providing exemplary professional clinical care.

Our company is continuing to grow and we're looking to add two (2) new Patient Financial Counselors to our team. This is a full-time onsite at our Brea HQ office.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Patient Financial Counselor is a patient’s primary point of contact for benefit investigation, financial estimates, copay assistance enrollment, and other available financial resources. This team member is the face of Infusion For Health for pre-service financial matters and serves to ensure that patients feel confident they are making an informed financial decision to proceed. The Patient Financial Counselor is responsible for reviewing benefit and financial information and enrolling or assisting patients with enrolling in copay assistance programs. Independent judgment and decision making is required to address the full range of tasks and responsibilities. The position requires the ability to plan, schedule and organize numerous tasks that directly impact Infusion reimbursement. This team member is expected to maintain quality and productivity standards in a high-growth and fast-paced environment, as well as provide excellent service to both internal and external stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Demonstrated ability in patient registration, admissions, and billing practice
  • Experience in reviewing and analyzing financial information to assess potential patient or third party liability
  • Knowledge of health insurance and coding (i.e., CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10)
  • Understanding of best practices in healthcare support services
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Skilled in computer/word processing software and internet
  • Ability to identify and communicate process improvement opportunities
  • Ability to perform in a consistently organized manner with strong attention to detail

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma: required
  • Licenses & Certifications: N/A
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in Health Care billing, collections or Financial Counseling or equivalent
  • EMR experience required

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serves as a financial resource to patient care team, staff, patients and their families regarding financial issues and obtaining eligibility and benefit information.
  • Contact patients to review benefits and eligibility and provide information on potential out-of-pocket costs as documented by their insurance plan
  • Encourage patients to confirm their current benefits plan agreement with their insurance provider before services are rendered
  • Review with patients all financial assistance resources available including copay assistance programs, scholarships, and foundations
  • Enroll or assist patients with enrolling in copay assistance programs
  • Ensure patients feel confident moving forward with services by providing an accurate vision of the quality of care available at Infusion For Health
  • Obtain patient signatures acknowledging the benefit and eligibility information as provided by the payer
  • Communicate with patients, payers, and internal departments in a professional and courteous manner
  • Create notes in practice management system to document any communication, pertinent information, and actions taken on patient accounts
  • Maintain frequent communication with team and department leadership to ensure a consistent flow of information
  • All other tasks as assigned

The hourly pay range for this role is expected to be between $20-$24. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed, and the applicant's skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
