InfuCare Rxis a leading infusion therapy provider offering a specialized approach to caring for patients in need of IV therapy and specialty pharmacy and nursing services in the home and alternate care site setting. Overview:

The Nurse Practitioner reports to National Director of Nursing. The role of the Nurse Practitioner is to provide clinical and professional services for patients receiving therapy within the company’s ambulatory infusion suite(s). The Nurse Practitioner will be required to provide direct patient care as well as consultative services regarding infusion suite related patient services and healthcare facility specific guidelines. Working interdepartmentally to ensure continuum of patient care, this position offers a dynamic blend of clinical practice, education, and collaboration with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

General duties include but are not limited to practices as they pertain to patients who are serviced at the company’s infusion suite:

  • Administers IV medications to patients in the infusion suite setting.
  • Helps to ensure patient safety, including monitoring adverse reactions, and providing emotional and emergency medical support to patients during therapy.
  • Manages infusion suite inventory such as patient medications and supplies per company policy.
  • Promotes high standards of care by assisting in the development of clinical protocols to improve quality and enhance the appropriate utilization of resources in the Infusion Suite, including developing criteria to guide the selection and implementation of clinical practice guidelines.
  • Collaborates with the healthcare team to develop educational materials and resources for patients receiving therapy in the infusion suite.
  • Offers counseling and support to address patient concerns, promote treatment adherence, and optimize therapeutic outcomes.
  • Collaborates with physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care.
  • Maintain nursing guidelines, oversee nursing processes and procedures within the Infusion Suite.
  • Assists the company in developing and implementing financially effective and efficient operations by obtaining information regarding better methods of operating the Infusion Suite.
  • Develops and implements improvements regarding the provision of services provided by the Infusion Suite and staff the management and business of the Infusion Suite.
  • Communicates effectively with referring providers to exchange pertinent patient information, coordinate treatment plans, and facilitate continuity of care.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings to review patient progress, address clinical challenges, and optimize treatment strategies.
  • Assures adherence to company policies and procedures including accreditation and regulatory requirements.
  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives and safety protocols to enhance patient care delivery and clinical outcomes.
  • Exhibits and maintains knowledge of Infusion nursing, pharmacy services, payment practices and overall understanding of infusion business.
  • Assists with promotion of infusion suite and related sales and clinical activities.
  • Plans and implements in-service and training programs with internal staff and external partners.
  • Ensures that the Infusion Suite is maintaining accurate, complete, and timely patient and other records regarding the services to facilitate the delivery of quality patient care and provide the information required to obtain payment for the services provided.
  • Advises the company in the development of new programs, initiatives and services for the Infusion Suite that will enable the Infusion Suite to keep pace with the latest improvements in the care and treatment of patients.
  • Coordinates with staff and external partners to provide educational activities for InfuCare and/or Infusion Suite staff and performs such other teaching functions as are reasonably necessary to assist with the Infusion Suite’s compliance with applicable laws and accreditation standards.
  • Continually assesses and evaluates the quality, appropriateness and efficiency of the care and services at the Infusion Suite.
  • Assists company in maintaining compliance with laws and regulations of federal, state, and local governments and standards for licensure and accreditation.
  • Maintains business and clinical knowledge of infusion services, including current treatment strategies, current and pending competitors, and new therapeutic developments.
  • Keeps all interactions and materials “audit ready,” and conducts regular management audits of the team’s activities in cooperation with compliance department.
  • Facilitates resolution of Infusion Suite patient related medical issues by providing Emergency Services guidance upon request.
  • Performs chart audits as requested to ensure appropriate documentation is maintained.

 Minimum Education and Skills/Experience:

  • Master’s degree in nursing (MSN) from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the state of Pennsylvania.
  • Previous experience in infusion therapy, ambulatory care, or specialty pharmacy settings is highly desirable.
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, patient education, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to professional development, continuing education, and evidence-based practice.

Physical Demands:

Required to stand, walk, sit, talk and hear; required to use hands to operate vehicles and office equipment; must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs; specific vision requirements for this job include: close, distance and peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus, reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position without compromising patient care.
