Registered Nurse - ICU
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team. As an ICU nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing specialized care to critically ill patients. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a difference in the lives of patients and their families.
Duties:
- Provide direct patient care in the ICU setting, ensuring the highest quality of care and safety
- Monitor and assess patients' conditions, including vital signs, lab results, and symptoms
- Administer medications, including injections, as prescribed by physicians
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Perform medical-surgical procedures and interventions as necessary
- Utilize medical terminology and documentation systems accurately and efficiently
- Assist with discharge planning and provide patient education on post-discharge care
- Participate in diagnostic evaluations and interpret results for appropriate interventions
- Operate and monitor neonatal ventilators for patients requiring respiratory support
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Skills:
- Excellent patient care skills with a focus on compassion and empathy
- Proficient in providing specialized care in an ICU setting
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and documentation systems
- Experience administering injections and performing medical-surgical procedures
- Basic life support (BLS) certification required; advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification preferred
- Familiarity with various medical systems used in the ICU setting
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members
