This involves researching content, building relationships with key industry executives, designing compelling agendas, guiding content strategy to create a buzz about the conference and leveraging networks to drive the commercial success of events. Working as part of a strong and experienced Canadian Real Estate Forums team, the Conference Producer is a motivated, resourceful and responsible individual who relishes the challenge and autonomy of creating world-class programs from concept to delivery, and who is proactive, highly organised, outgoing, professional and has excellent communication skills.Key Responsibilities:Analyse the industry and past conferences to determine market opportunitiesWork with the Head of Product, Process and Delivery to set the event’s strategy for the yearResearch the conference programs by contacting a complete cross section of the target market through phone, desk research and meetings to determine customer requirementsCreating and establishing a network of key informants in the market to act as a resource for speaker recruitment, programming suggestions and potential promotion of the eventCreate and run an advisory board for each eventIdentify strengths and weaknesses of competitors’ events through websites, brochures and speaking to key executives that attend their eventsCreate compelling, commercially-driven, high value, current and differentiated programs: content positioning, speaker representation and delivery are at the core of the overall strategy, and you will ensure your respective events are representative, in a geographic, experiential and sectorial basis across the complete real estate industryIdentify and contact potential speakers and encourage them to join the speaker faculty Source special guest speakers from outside the industry/country and negotiate speaker fees and expenses and stay within guidelines set down for the eventWork with the marketing team to:Design a compelling content-based marketing campaignWrite benefit driven promotional copy for websites and marketing piecesEnsure they are targeting the right market and sourcing appropriate media partnersDesign and implement promotional campaigns via LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook.Work with the chairperson(s), speakers and sponsors to raise the profile of the eventWorking with Sponsorship to find leads and identify additional revenue opportunitiesWork with operations to ensure budgets are accurate and the event runs smoothly on the dayConduct research at the event to identify new ideas for existing and new eventsProduce the pre and post conference reportsQualificationsExperience Required:1-2 years of experience in Conference Production experience Candidates with 1-2 years of experience working in the Commercial Real Estate industry with an interest in conference production are encouraged to applyThinking creatively, innovating and shaping a product around customer needsProven research skills using a number of information sources including cold callsCommercial awareness – the ability to understand market dynamics and leverage networks to monetize the programRemarkable copywriting skills to create compelling conference agendasProject and time management skills with an ability to multi-task and attention to detailExcellent interpersonal and relationship management skills and the ability to network with senior industry figuresKnowledgeable about commercial real estate, institutional investors, REITs, private equity and debt – understanding of market dynamics, trends, key players and terminology usedSuccessful applicants are likely to possess a university degree (or equivalent)Bilingual English/French would be an assetPersonal Attributes & Behaviours:A confident and articulate verbal and written communicator, can foster strong relationships both internally and externallyEnthusiasm and a collaborative mind setDemonstrates a pragmatic and commercially astute approach to decision makingPossesses excellent prioritisation skills, has the foresight to anticipate obstacles and needsTakes pride and personal responsibility for maintaining the Informa Connect brandA self-starter who takes a proactive approach to all tasks, able to motivate those close to themAdditional InformationWhy work at Informa Employee experience is very important to us at Informa.
