Job Title:

12-hour night shifts

Job Description:

A Travel ICU RN is responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the Intensive Care Unit. The nurse will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure the best outcomes for critically ill patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and assess patients' critical conditions, including vital signs, hemodynamic status, and laboratory results.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
  • Provide advanced life support and emergency care as necessary.
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Perform diagnostic tests and interpret results to guide patient care decisions.
  • Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatments, and ongoing care needs.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough patient records and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and provide input on patient care.
  • Manage multiple patients effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

  • Active RN license in the state of Illinois.
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent ICU experience.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
  • Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Strong critical thinking, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience with EMR systems; familiarity with specific hospital systems is a plus.
