Job Description:

Position: Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical
Location: Albany, GA
Shift: Night Shift (12 hours)
Duration: 13-week contract

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care in a medical-surgical setting, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans.
• Monitor patients' conditions, administer medications, and collaborate with healthcare team members to provide comprehensive care.
• Perform nursing assessments and prioritize patient needs based on acuity and urgency.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including documentation of nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
• Educate patients and their families about their healthcare needs, treatment plans, and self-care techniques.
• Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, including infection control protocols and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including physicians, nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of evidence-based nursing practices.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license in the state of Georgia.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of recent experience in a medical-surgical nursing setting.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Flexibility to work night shifts and weekends as required.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferred.
