Understanding of Boeing & Airbus 'Line-Fit’ requirements?Job Summary:The Qualification Engineer performs formal qualification test activities for standard andcustom hardware and software systems. This individual supports the development ofprocedures needed to demonstrate product compliance and assists in the evaluation oftest equipment required to verify product performance during qualification tests. TheQualification Engineer may assist in the construction or modification of test fixtures. Thisindividual may also support the formal regulatory process related to product qualificationtest lab readiness.Duties and Responsibilities:Interface with Design and Software groups to identify support equipment needed tosuccessfully execute performance verification during formal qualification testingCollect data for the development of Qualification Procedures needed to demonstrateproduct compliance to established requirementsFacilitate third-party laboratories purchase orders and invoicesMonitor, coordinate and manage all activities related to the execution of formal qualificationtest program including, but not limited to:Test schedule (chronological order of test activities)Set up and integration of test lab and support equipmentRegularly-scheduled status reportsPreferred Qualifications and/or Education:Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in a related field0-6 years of experience working in a similar roleExperience working in a AS9100 quality environment3 years of experience in a test environment with emphasis on satisfying the authorities &OEM requirements as well as other industry standardsFamiliarization with FAA Part 25 and EASA CS Part 25 requirements related to airborneIFE equipmentIn-depth working knowledge of industry-standard RTCA and airframe qualificationrequirementsIn-depth working knowledge of Microsoft OfficeHands-on experience with Electrical/EMI test procedures, potential challenges andmitigation techniquesRepresent the company and interface with the FAA and company suppliersHands-on experience with:Temperature and pressure chambersVibration and Acceleration test equipmentEMI test set up and wiringFeedback devices such as accelerometers and thermocuplesSoft Skills:Ability to adapt, plan and organize in a constantly changing environmentStrong written and verbal English communication skillsStrong analytical problem solving skillsAbility to work independently with minimal direction as well as in a team environmentRev. 1/1/2017Ability to use discretion and independent judgment when making decisions on behalf ofthe companyPhysical demands:Regularly required to sit, stand, walk and use hands and fingers to operate a computerkeyboard, mouse, and telephone to talk and hearOccasionally required to reach with hands and armsMay be required to handle or feel objects, tools or controlsOccasionally lift and/or move up to 25 poundsSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and abilityto adjust focusWork Environment:Office environmentNoise level in the work environment is usually low to moderateTravel:Some local, domestic and international travel may be requiredTraining Curriculum:Staff OrientationOther programs as developed by managementThe preceding functions and requirements have been provided as examples of the types of workperformed by employees assigned to this job classification.
