What level Clearance do I need? You must possess an active Top Secret/SCI clearance.

What will I be doing? You will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) supporting the 688 CW/A35 Future Operations Division in the planning of operational/strategic operations in defensive cyberspace operations. The focus will be on contingency and crisis action planning while applying fundamentals of the Joint Publications Planning Series (JP 5-0). In addition, you will be:

• Providing advice on planning and policy issues
• Reviewing/drafting CONOPs, WARNORDs, PLANORDs, OPORDs, FRAGORDs, and EXORDs
• Serving as action officer for contingency and crisis action planning, deliberate action planning, COA development, and military leadership decision briefs
• Reviewing and assisting in development of emerging concepts, doctrine, and procedures locally and for HHQ
• Serving as the lead or assisting on Operational Planning Teams
• Serving as principal future operations expert and planner, responsible for advising on, coordinating, leading, monitoring and tracking Operational/Strategic planning activities related to future and ongoing planning activities
• Can be directed as, primary action officer for deliberate action planning, coordinating with the 16 AF and 616 OC, for Mission Analysis, Course of Action (COA) development, and 688 CW Commander Decision Briefings
• Developing input into 688 CW Concept Plans, Operational Plans, and Operations Orders
• Monitoring and assisting in development of emerging 688 CW concepts, doctrine, and procedures
• Supporting and attending planning conferences in CONUS/OCONUS
• Executing major projects and analytical reviews designed to resolve problems in support of 688 CW
• Closely coordinating with 16 AF and 616 OC in the production of plans and orders in support of 688 CW missions
• Reviewing Higher Headquarters (HHQ) operational policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and directives as they pertain to planning development
• Coordinating Request for Forces/Support (RFF/S)
• Contributing to Assessment Working Groups
• Developing courses of action to meet stated objectives and support 688 CW Commander’s decisions, including employment of critical resources within the AOR
• Interpreting requirements and recommending courses of action in accordance with plans, standing procedures, policies, orders, directives, regulations, Commander’s intent, and or Commander’s Critical Information Requirements
• Preparing and briefing 688 CW leadership

• Other duties as assigned

What experience, training, and education do I need?

You must meet the minimum requirements:

• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance
• At least five (5) years of experience as an Operational/Strategic Planner and support of Air Force Cyber (AFCYBER) specific strategic planning requirements
• Knowledge of operations throughout 16 AF
• Knowledge of the Joint Planning Process
• Knowledge of DoD and USCYBERCOM strategy, policy, and plans
• Familiarity with techniques to identify, define, and preform detailed analysis on complex issues, situations, and problems, and develop practical plans, policies, and TTPs
• Knowledge of the Military Decision-Making Process, to include the Deliberate, Adaptive, and Crisis-Action Planning Processes
• Able to develop and present oral and written briefings to leadership and senior staff
• Knowledge of the Joint Operation Planning and Execution System (JOPES), Joint Publications Planning Series (JP 5-0)
• Exceptional writing skills in the production of quality plans and related products
• Able to conduct TDYs and work extended hours, nights, and weekends, as mission dictates

The following experience is preferred:

• Graduate of a Joint Operations Planners Course, Intermediate Development Planners Course, a Senior Professional Military Education Course, Command & Control Warrior Advanced Course (C2WAC), USAF Weapons School, or equivalent
