Position: Engineering Manager

Are you a seasoned engineering professional with a passion for driving excellence in chemical manufacturing? We're seeking a dynamic Engineering Manager to lead our engineering and technical team in ensuring the highest standards of operational efficiency, safety, and quality.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate the engineering and technical team, fostering collaboration with plant, corporate, and customer stakeholders.
• Develop and manage expense and capital project management processes.
• Establish and oversee equipment design and installation standards.
• Implement and manage process testing procedures to ensure product quality and plant efficiency.
• Provide engineering support for maintenance and operations departments.
• Manage project execution for both expense and capital projects.
• Identify and facilitate training opportunities for plant personnel.
• Develop and track Key Performance Indicators to drive continuous improvement.
• Support co-workers, including the Plant Manager, by providing vacation coverage and assistance as needed.
• Drive operational improvements through hands-on understanding of plant processes and capabilities.
• Stay updated on industry trends and technologies to drive plant efficiency and competitiveness.
• Participate in safety reviews and uphold environmental, health, safety, and security principles.

Secondary Responsibilities:

• Provide 24/7 support for critical situations.
• Participate in Management of Change processes and other initiatives.
• Assist in SOP development, review, and implementation.
• Contribute to various activities and assignments as necessary.

Complexity of Duties:

• Uphold a values-driven culture with a primary focus on safety.
• Demonstrate willingness to understand processes from the operator's perspective.
• Work with minimal supervision to achieve objectives and deadlines.

Required Education / Competencies / Equivalent Experience:

• Mechanical or chemical engineering background with knowledge of chemical industry standards.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing plant.
• Strong safety standards and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with competing priorities and diverse teams.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in implementing mechanical integrity programs.
• Work experience in corrosive environments.
• Background in PSM and RMP facilities.
• Previous involvement in training program development and Total Productive Maintenance.

Location / Reporting Relationship:

This position is based in Chicago and reports to the Plant Manager.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
