• Experience in Auditing and Review: Prior experience in conducting audits and reviews, preferably within a healthcare or social services context, to ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and billing practices.
• Knowledge of State Laws and Policies: Familiarity with applicable state laws, regulations, and policies related to social services, healthcare, and billing practices, ensuring adherence and compliance during audits and reviews.
• Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, documents, and processes to identify errors, discrepancies, and areas for improvement in DCS services and billing practices.
• Communication and Education Skills: Effective communication skills to educate and advise DCS providers on recommended corrective actions, as well as to collaborate with a larger statewide team during meetings and trainings.
• Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail to thoroughly review documentation, identify errors, and develop corrective action plans to address any discrepancies found during audits and reviews.
• Teamwork and Collaboration: Ability to work effectively as part of a team, both during on-site visits to DCS provider locations and in larger team meetings, fostering collaboration and sharing of best practices.
• Travel Flexibility: Willingness and ability to travel to DCS provider locations within the designated regions, as well as attend quarterly meetings at the Central Office in Marion County, with travel occurring as frequently as twice a week.
• Process Improvement Mindset: Proactive approach to suggesting process improvements within the audit team and division, contributing to overall efficiency and effectiveness in DCS services and billing practices.
