Job Title: Interim Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)
Assignment Length: Approx. 2 to 3 months – could extend further.
Location: Lynn, MA
Shift: Full-time, 5 – 8 hr Day shifts
Pay Rate: $115/hour - $120/hour

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to lead our dedicated team of healthcare professionals. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CNO will play a pivotal role in overseeing nursing services, respiratory therapy, and clinical scheduling and staffing. Responsibilities Include:

  • Reporting directly to the CEO, the CNO will play a pivotal role in overseeing nursing services, respiratory therapy, and clinical scheduling and staffing.
  • Provide overall leadership, clinical direction, and oversight to Nursing Services, respiratory therapy, and clinical scheduling and staffing.
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality services to patients focusing on rehabilitative integration.
  • Direct, plan, and coordinate hospital activities, demonstrating judgment, initiative, and leadership in addressing technical, organizational, and administrative issues.
  • Foster an exceptional care environment for every patient, emphasizing quality improvement and clinical standards.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic planning, policy development, and initiatives, serving as a role model for staff.
  • Lead coordination, hiring, training, and management of personnel, while triaging operational issues.
  • Collaborate with nursing supervisors and clinical staffing personnel to optimize nursing resource utilization.
  • Assess current and potential staffing needs, providing patient care and facilitating collaboration among nurses.
  • Conduct patient needs assessment, nursing diagnosis, and oversee clinical management of patients.
  • Consult with managers and staff to resolve patient care issues, serving as an advisory resource.
  • Develop staff workflows for consistent implementation of best practices and establish metrics for service evaluation and quality improvement.
  • Utilize resources for the incorporation of new technology and trends to enhance service quality.
  • Oversee all aspects of staffing, including scheduling adjustments based on patient acuity, census, and available staff.
  • Serve as a member of the senior leadership team and as an on-call administrator Hospital wide responsibility for the JC survey.
  • Continually evaluating the need for additional alternative clinical contracted services.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must have 6 years of full-time or equivalent professional, administrative, managerial experience in a particular specialty.
  • 5-10 years of clinical experience in a leadership role.
  • Active RN license in State of Massachusetts.
  • Experience in managed care, utilization review, and quality assurance.
  • Experience with Joint Commission Survey
  • Must have Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Health Care Administration background experience preferred.
