Department: Environmental Test Facility

Reports To: InDyne Task Lead

Job Overview: The Test Lab Repair Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing various equipment and machinery used in EPG's, Climatic and Dynamic testing laboratory. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical and complex mechanical heating and cooling systems with a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Perform routine maintenance on the various components a variety of large test chambers and lab equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Diagnose malfunctions and perform basic repair and or replacement of single and multi-phase electric motors.
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace and comply with all safety protocols.
• Document all maintenance and repair work.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to fabricate complex test jigs and equipment movement.
• Will be expected to work with local calibration lab personnel to manage test equipment pickup and return accountability.

Qualifications:

• Must be capable of acquiring and maintaining a "SECRET" clearance.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational certification preferred.
• No formal HVAC background required however, several dual cascade cooling systems require monitoring and documenting static and operational pressure levels to assist in troubleshooting.
• Experience as a basic mechanic expected to assist in construction of test jigs and instrumentation setup.
• Some working knowledge of electrical wiring and machine control.
• Ability to operate drill press, and various other power tools and forklift operation.
• Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
• May be required to stand for long periods of time.
• Must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat, humidity, and cold.
