Pay Range: $18 - $20, due to shift & experience difference
Job Type: Full time
- 1st Shift 3:30 am - 12Noon Tuesday – Saturday
- 2nd Shift 7:00pm – 3:30am Monday - Friday
Job Description
Sort Line material handlers are a very important part of our team here at IVSS. The purpose of this overview for the position of Sort Line Inspector is to give you an idea of what the position requires to become an employee and team member of IVSS.
Our Sort Line Inspectors are required to wear gloves, approved work shoes, ear plugs, and safety glasses every day. The gloves, ear plugs, and safety glasses are provided by the company.
Standing in one spot for long periods of time is required. You will be required to bend and stretch during your time working as a Sort Line Inspector. You will move your arms, shoulders, and back a lot during your workday.
- Sight: Your ability to see clearly is essential to your position as Sort Line Inspector. The belt moves quickly. Safety glasses are required and supplied by the company. If you wear eyeglasses, all safety eyewear shall conform to OSHA requirements and requires special frames.
- Hearing: Ear plugs are provided and required to be always worn during your time at your workstation and while walking through the plant.
- Smell: At times there is a noticeable smell in the facility. Remember, this is a recycling company, and we are recycling old, discarded, and used plastic bottles. We wash these bottles to clean them before production and it may produce a bad odor from time to time. However, it’s a tolerable odor.
- Touch: You’ll be touching a lot of plastic bottles and other items during your workday as a Sort Line Inspector. Gloves are provided for you to protect your hands from contaminants.
At times the work process is very busy and at times is slow. If for any reason we have downtime due to mechanical or unexpected failures the Material handlers forklift operations & Sort Line Inspectors will be required to help with housekeeping and other duties around the facility. This includes shoveling, sweeping, and wiping down workstation areas. Material handlers forklift workers will not be only moving material with the forklift, they will need to be willing to perform other assignments in housekeeping
