JOB SUMMARY: The Software Developer II is responsible for application development and technical oversight. This includes code review, recommending and setting technical policy and procedure, completing programming, database, and administrative tasks and assisting with business and technical analysis.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (COMPETENCIES):
• Collaborate with systems analysts, development and functional teams to understand business requirements
• Meet with internal customers to define requirements
• Perform the design, coding, and testing of technical solutions
• Guide performance testing
• Handle production support issues
• Assist in troubleshooting user issues and resolving tickets
• Stay up-to-date on technological advances and new industry trends
• Create Business Intelligence (BI) solutions such as dashboards and key performance charts and/or reports to meet stakeholder requirements
• Assist in maintaining and upgrading existing systems
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation
• Apply working knowledge of development languages and technologies
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance of all custom-developed software
• Maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information
• Handle off-hours and on-call duties and responsibilities shared with other team members
• Assist in the technical administration of the department to include code reviews, software architecture, technical policy and procedure, and dev ops.
• Assist in the mentorship and training of Software Developers, Software Developer Technicians
and Software Developer Junior Technicians.
• Perform other duties or special projects as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
• Associates degree in Computer Science or a related field and six years of experience required
• BS/MS in Computer Science preferred.
• Understanding of general-purpose computer programming fundamentals and concepts
• Understanding of relational database concepts
• Understanding of software architecture, devops, and software project policy and procedure
• Strong internet research and problem-solving skills
• Customer service skills

The salary range indicated in this posting represents the minimum and maximum of the range for the position. The actual range will vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, prior experience, knowledge, skill and education as they relate to the position’s qualifications, and internal equity.
