POSITIONThe Indianapolis Colts are seeking a Writing & Podcast Intern to join the Content, Creative & Media team. The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller with sound news judgement and experience covering sports. The successful candidate will be responsible for working closely with the Writer/Audio Initiatives Manager on story ideas and regularly publishing written content to Colts.com for the season-long internship.MANAGER Writer, Audio Initiatives ManagerDIRECT REPORTSNone RESPONSIBILITIESGeneral responsibilities are but not limited to:Attend Colts press conferences, practices and games to report, write, edit and publish written contentWrite in a tone consistent with Colts.com style guidelinesWrite straight news and develop story ideas for notebooks and feature articlesAssist in transcribing press conferences and media availabilityAssist in publishing press releases to Colts.comAssist in managing Colts roster and transactions on Colts.comResearch and assist in the development and execution of the Colts audio initiativesQUALIFICATIONSCollege degree in journalism or equivalent work experienceProficient, creative writer with background covering sports, preferably footballAbility to write for a team website and avoid editorializingProfessionalism to work with and interview NFL players, coaches and football operations staffComfortable writing football and non-football storiesStrong organizational and communication skills to manage multiple assignments at onceWorking knowledge of Photoshop, CMS platforms and SEO best practicesAbility to work a daily schedule as well as nights, weekends and holidaysAbility and willingness to learn and grow as a reporter and writerResponsibilities and qualification may change with or without notice.We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
