The College of Arts and Sciences is the largest academic unit at Indiana University Bloomington. Job Summary
The Senior Associate Director for Strategic Alumni Engagement will serve as an integral member of the College of Arts and Sciences newly formed Academic Engagement and Student Experience Team, which brings together key student serving functions including academic advising, career services, international programs and recruiting.
Department Specific Responsibilities
  • Collaborates with College of Arts and Sciences Advancement and Alumni Relations teams to execute highly-coordinated alumni volunteer and donor engagement initiatives to support the strategic objectives of the Walter Center.
  • Serves as the Walter Center's formal liaison with the College's Advancement and Alumni Relations teams, implementing highly communicative and coordinated approaches to engaging alumni and donors in support of the Walter Center.
  • Leads student internship scholarship program. Oversees student application for funding process, candidate review, and fund disbursement processes.
  • Communicates with student applicants around internship funding processes and protocols. Collaborates with Career Education team to ensure internship funding processes and protocols are aligned with student need.
  • Manages the Walter Center Success Network, an online network of 4,000 alumni volunteers who support the undergraduate and graduate career education efforts of the Walter Center, through recruiting and communicating with alumni volunteers.
  • Creates opportunities for current students to connect with College alumni by facilitating alumni centered on and off-campus networking events, including career treks, on-campus events, and virtual networking opportunities.
General Responsibilities
  • Plans, coordinates, and executes alumni volunteer projects, programs and events as a leader advisor for an assigned alumni group.
  • Identifies, recruits, and develops alumni to serve in key volunteer and leadership roles.
  • Collaborates with other university advancement officers to engage and cultivate alumni through various initiatives.
  • Conducts research and analyzes data to recommend key market priorities consistent with alumni association and institutional goals.
  • Develops best practice processes and systems for increasing alumni volunteer involvement and connection with the university.
  • Manages budgets; writes and edits publications and other communications.

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
