Indiana University (IU) School of Medicine, a national leader in research, education, and clinical care, is announcing the search for a Chair of the Department of Urology.

This is an extraordinary opportunity for a visionary leader to provide strategic leadership for all aspects of the Department, including education, research, and clinical care.

Founded in 1887, the Indiana University School of Medicine Department of Urology is one of the oldest and most trusted urology departments in the country, with world-renowned clinicians, educators, and researchers in the areas of urologic cancers, pediatric urology, endourological procedures, as well as other urologic subspecialties.

The department is most well-known for its contributions to the multidisciplinary management of testicular cancer, urinary tract reconstruction (i.

e., Indiana Pouch Urinary Reservoir), surgical treatment of children with congenital bladder disease, and advanced stone treatment.

Researchers in this department also pioneered the focal treatment of prostate cancer with high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) and were the first to publish on HIFU in the United States.

The department is one of the first to offer HIFU and TULSA-based focal therapies through its clinical partnership with Indiana University Health.

IU School of Medicine is the only allopathic medical school in the state and the largest medical school in the country. With 25,000 living alumni and 3,000 learners across nine campuses in the state, our institution is committed to shaping the future of healthcare.

The successful candidate for this position must be board-certified in Urology. This position is ideal for a collaborative and transformational leader who can build on existing strengths in the department and has the vision to expand research and education through new programs aligned with the Department's mission statement.

A doctorate or terminal degree is required. Minimum qualifications include an MD, MD / PhD, or equivalent. Academic appointment type is open and will be determined based on academic credentials.
