Overview
The
Vice President Chief Operating Officer Saxony
determines the strategic vision and priorities for IU Health Saxony Hospital ensuring direct alignment with the business strategy in the area, region and to the system. This leader serves as a member of the Saxony executive management team for the Indianapolis Suburban Region (ISR) and will use strong analysis and relationship building skills to build an agenda for hospital-wide innovative organizational improvement. This role is key to ensuring physician involvement, physician communication and is a strong contributor to physicians' satisfaction. The Chief Operating Officer will interface and collaborate on a very frequent basis with the facility CMO and CNO, and together, they will jointly drive performance toward balanced scorecard achievement. This leader will work collaboratively with other area, region, and system partners to execute organizational development strategy, area service line development* and drive change initiatives across the hospital and region to optimize organizational potential and achieve strategic business and operational objectives. This leader will use expertise in effective operations, quality patient care, effective medical staff relations, regulatory compliance, fiscal responsibility, and excellent people and service skills to drive a wide variety of programs, policies and complex initiatives designed to build a best-in-class team. In addition, this role is expected to develop high-level strategy to counter new trends in payment structures that are crucial to operating in a Curve 2 environment. The Chief Operating Officer must possess strong analytical and relationship building skills to develop an agenda for innovative organizational improvement. The Chief Operating Officer provides administrative leadership and coordination for the hospital and with the region in regard to the efficient delivery of patient care. This leader ensures their responsible area's goals and objectives are aligned with the System's strategic goals and objectives.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSBILITIES INCLUDE:
Implementing and upholding the vision and values of the organization.
Providing direction and consultation related to strategic planning, and drives operational efficiency related to the organization.
Provide leadership in program development, establishing and completing tasks to achieve objectives.
Responsible for hospital integration and collaboration across all core departments associated with the service line delivery.
QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Preferred experience: a Master's Degree in Health Administration; Business Administration or related field required, with minimum of 5 years operational leadership experience.
Strong demonstrated transformational and complex, matrixed leadership skills (inspiring, problem solving, communication across multiple organizations, executing) to champion Leading to Preeminence and transition to an ACO.
Experience managing multiple complex projects involving multiple customers, interests, and goals.
Strong blend of management skills and technical expertise demonstrated by superior planning, decision-making, negotiation, leadership, and financial management skills/knowledge, with a focus to adding value to the bottom line of the business to foster a preeminent healthcare environment.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills with all levels of employees, management and community leaders and a proven leader who is an effective, creative, and visionary problem solver.
A proven leader of people, can recruit, develop, and mentor a top-notch team capable of supporting future growth and has demonstrated leadership in promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace and community.
Knowledge of industry issues, demonstrated experience and results such as Curve 2 (transition from volume based to value based economics), accountable care and insurance/population risk models.
Knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and Local regulatory agency guidelines and laws.
