Indiana Math and Science Academy North is Hiring a Computer Teacher Near Indianapolis, IN

Indiana Math and Science Academy North is seeking a highly motivated, dedicated, and enthusiastic computer science teacher to become part of a team of outstanding educators. The position involves collaboration with the other teachers within the assigned grade level and a commitment to student achievement.

The teacher is responsible for creating a classroom environment that develops skills for listening, speaking, reading and writing that are fundamental to effective communication. The classroom teacher will also be responsible for evaluating student data to plan instruction that meets the needs of diverse learners. Differentiated instruction and flexible grouping are an integral part of the expectations for this position. The teacher will be responsible for maintaining individualized communication with parents and for conducting parent teacher conferences at least four times a year to ensure the highest level of service to our students.


Primary responsibilities
:

To lead, support and develop students following IMSA North’s Mission and Vision.


Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Attend necessary training (including summer)
  • Introduce district selected computer applications to students
  • Assist with the dissemination of materials related to computer technology
  • Expand the STEM initiative at the school level especially reaching out to underrepresented groups
  • Technology and coaching professional development
  • Teach other assigned subjects
  • Lead STEM clubs and other STEM related activities (ex., Robotics,CodeAThon)

Other Duties:

  • Maintains professional competence by attending staff development programs, curriculum development meetings and other professional activities.
  • Participates in various student and parent activities which occur in school including PTO, student clubs and after-school activities.
  • Creates an effective learning environment through functional and attractive displays, bulletin boards, and activity/learning centers.
  • Performs any other related duties as assigned by the Principal or other administrator.

Educational Requirements

A bachelor's degree or higher in elementary education or a related field from an accredited education or elementary education program is required.

Licensing Requirements

Must possess a valid Indiana Teaching License or be eligible to obtain teaching licensure in a timely manner.
