Job Overview:

Indian Springs is a historic hot springs resort situated on 17-acres, in historic Calistoga. This 116-room resort includes three food & beverage outlets, a world-class spa, 4 on- site natural geysers and a one of a kind Olympic-sized natural mineral pool.

The Facilities Director is responsible for maintenance and upkeep of this beautiful resort. The ideal candidate will be a team player, comfortable in collaborating with a team of directors to deliver an exceptional guest experience.

Maintenance/Operations

• Conduct and document facility and property inspections to ensure the efficient operation of the Resort. Develop schedules for preventative maintenance and cleaning for current and anticipated property needs.

• Assign and verify completion of all work orders, routine room maintenance, repairs, landscape projects/ maintenance. Prioritize repairs and provide direction to staff.

• Maintain a well-defined and organized system for inventory, maintenance and storage of all tools, equipment and vehicles.

• Establish an appropriate supply of materials and equipment to operate and maintain the facilities and property.

• Work closely with other Operation Directors to make sure all scheduled maintenance can be accomplished within the timeframe necessary.

• Support the IT Manager with projects requiring assistance with wiring and building modifications to maintain the IT, phone, cable TV systems property wide.

• Monitor and supervise all contracted services including pest control, landscape services, etc.

• Work with Director of Rooms to design and implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance program

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations, and assist with energy management of the property. Act as liaison with

• Monitor the issuance of keys establishing key and access control for the property. Update key system as required/needed.

• Ensure all maintenance processes and procedures are safe and in compliance.

• Actively participate in IS ‘s safety program and partner with the Human Resources Manager to ensure compliance. Respond to safety issues immediately to correct any safety concerns either guest or employee related.

• Ensure proper usage of chemicals by monitoring and providing training. Maintain the Safety Data Sheets for the Facilities Department. Comply with all OSHA requirements.

• Oversee the security of buildings and property.

• Report to the property in the case of emergencies which may include power failures, fire, earthquake or other disasters.

Projects

• Work with the GM and ownership on planning, executing and supervising capital projects.

• Coordinate the scheduling and progress of projects, both improvements and capital to ensure timely completion.

Management

· Hire, manage, motivate, schedule and discipline all maintenance staff. Provide feedback on performance and evaluate each staff member.

· Review, revise and approve daily payroll as needed.

· Attend all management meetings.

· Work with the Director of Finance on yearly budget.

· Act as a liaison with inspectors, public utilities and energy representatives.

While performing the duties of this position it is required to regularly walk, climb, stoop, kneel, reach and lift. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Valid drivers’ license with acceptable driving record.

• Minimum five years of experience in management of a similar operation.

• Knowledge of electrical, HVAC, plumbing and mechanical systems.

• Ability to properly train all staff in the safe operation of equipment.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Excellent project management and planning skills.
