QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

The qualifications and skill requirements for this position include:

  • Associate's degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science or a related area OR a minimum of two (2) years proven work experience in a computer support environment;
  • Valid Florida driver license;
  • Proven knowledge and ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software in computing systems;
  • Ability to provide support to end-users through Service Desk;
  • Knowledgeable in AV technologies and teleconference systems;
  • Must be a proactive, independent worker with good communication skills necessary to interact with a technical and non-technical audience;
  • Ability to interact effectively and positively with administration on a regular basis.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The essential job functions and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing support to end-users through Service Desk in a timely manner;
  • Working knowledge of computer networking technologies;
  • Supporting technology needs within instructional, office and meeting spaces;
  • Maintaining documentation related to specialized procedures, applications, or system configurations;
  • Maintaining accurate and timely inventory of hardware and software assets within Service Desk;
  • Maintaining current knowledge of the Information Technology Services field by attending seminars or workshops, completing courses or reading current literature;
  • Researching and recommending the implementation of new technology products and techniques;
  • Assisting with the implementation of new IT initiatives across campus;
  • Providing IT and AV support for college events;
  • Ensuring all IT policies are enforced and followed;
  • Troubleshooting VOIP equipment issues; and
  • Fostering an environment of collaboration and strong customer service culture.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The specific duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Resolving computer hardware and software problems assigned in a timely manner;
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining client software;
  • Maintaining all networked technology across the college;
  • Completing basic network outlet testing and configuration to support network devices;
  • Utilizing programs, etc. to ensure proper function of all computer hardware and software;
  • Completing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires an ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally in excess of fifty (50) pounds. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, calculator, telephone, and other equipment as necessary. IRSC expects its employees to follow proper safety procedures while employed by the College.
