Junior DevOps Engineer - Production Support

Index Analytics is seeking a Junior DevOps Engineer to support Government clients in the Baltimore Area with a strong background in creating, managing, and securing environments in AWS. The Junior DevOps Engineer will provide O&M support responsible for building, deploying, and ensuring all database infrastructure is available.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting data models, bugs, system configurations, and app/data integrity across many tools in a complex, technical environment.
• Apply agile software development principles to daily work (including JIRA and GitHub).
• Use CMS tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
• Responsible for building, deploying, and ensuring all database infrastructure is available 24/7/365.
• Participate in live event support, root cause analysis and troubleshooting and on-call rotation.
• Designs, builds and maintains a stable and efficient infrastructure to optimize service delivery across production, QA, and development environments throughout the development lifecycle.
• Provide weekly/monthly status reports as needed.

Qualifications

• US citizen or authorized to work and have lived in the US for 3 years out of the last 5 years.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or relevant discipline required with minimum 2 years of relevant work experience OR 6 years’ relevant experience in lieu of degree.
• Two or more years of experience maintaining a stable and efficient infrastructure to optimize service delivery across multiple environments.
• Experience with AWS and Databricks strongly preferred.
• Understanding of databases such as Teradata, DB2, Snowflake, and Databricks.
• Good team player; works well with others.
• Ability to obtain Public Trust level clearance.
• Ability to demonstrate excellent written and oral communication required.
• Prior experience with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services or other Govt agencies is a plus.
