Independent Recruiting is Hiring a Financial Analyst Near Webster, TX

Overview:

Company seeks to hire a Senior Financial Analyst in Webster, TX who will report to the Director of Finance and work closely with all levels of the organization to meet financial forecasting, reporting, and planning. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in FP&A experience with a proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced workplace environment. The role will require the development, delivery, and presentation of key reporting. The candidate should have a strong understanding of financial, operational, sales, and macro/industry key metrics necessary to analyze and report on performance.
The ideal candidate will have command of GAAP and relevant FASB standards (ASC 606). A successful candidate will have a proven track record of synthesizing Operations and Accounting information into accurate financial forecasting and reporting. A candidate should also show acumen in developing processes and procedures that improve reporting and reporting accuracy. The candidate should also have experience with developing protocol meant to drive an organization toward a targeted financial outcome (eg. cost reduction program).

Responsibilities:

Supporting accounting month-end activities Developing financial reporting and dashboards to report financial performance


Reviewing and analyzing reporting on financial performance

Ownership of analysis and reporting processes designed to prepare actionable, insightful, and detailed financial reporting that drives effective decision making with a focus on improving speed of reporting creation and accuracy of forecasts
Identifying continuous improvement opportunities that drive cost reduction
Ability to identify the importance and differences between cash and accrual accounting performance
Partnering with business unit leaders and project managers to develop the understanding needed to create variance commentary and meaningful analysis, as well as serving as a liaison to them on financial, budget and related questions and issues that may arise
Assist with project costing in support of pricing and project reporting
Supporting forecasts, comprehensive budgeting, and long range financial planning activities, deadlines and deliverable creation
Ability to create, maintain, and update complex and dynamic financial models
Training end users on financial systems, spreadsheets, etc as needed
Supports financial reporting compliance and audit requests as needed
Ad hoc analysis and reporting and other duties as assigned


Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Accounting or Finance or other equivalent degree with a track record of FP&A experience

4 years of related experience in finance or accounting
Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office products
Ability to work with accounting systems or ERPs (like NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, etc) to identify, troubleshoot and understand financials
Proficiency with budgeting software systems and a track record of supporting annual internal budgeting process
Strong technical understanding of financial, project management, CRM, workflow management and other interconnected system output driving financial forecasts and define financial performance
Excellent communication skills
Strong analytical skills
Broad knowledge of accounting principles
Strong ability to multitask and handle multiple deadlines for deliverables
US Person per ITAR regulations


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience within the aerospace and defense industries
  • Strong understanding of the engineering design process and the application of accounting principles to it (especially revenue recognition)MBA or Masters of Finance, AccountingCPA or CMA or other relevant designationPowerBI, Tableau, Spotfire or other data visualization experience
