Independent Physician Practice is Hiring a Medical Front Office Manager Near Lincoln, NE

Overview - Role in a Medical Practice:
We are seeking a highly organized and customer-oriented individual to join our team as a Front Desk Manager. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a crucial role in ensuring their satisfaction and providing exceptional service. Your role includes coordinating activity of the Check-in, Check-out, Scheduling, Prior Authorization, and Medical-legal team. Your role is key in communicating with billing , providers and clinic staff. You will be a working manager, functioning with and supporting front office staff.

Duties:
· Maintain first point of contact for all patients that wish to obtain medical services .

· Oversee the team gathering pre-authorizations and pre-certifications for required services and can assist if needed.

· Coordinates front office processes and staff workload in order to maintain an efficient clinic flow.

· Develops training methods and programs to ensure the continuous development of team members and department services in order to meet changing customer requirements and business objectives.

· Coordinates daily Provider schedules for all locations.

· Reviews daily schedule for patient balances, credits, insurance coverage, eligibility etc., and communicates with the appropriate personnel for past due balances or payment plans that can be collected during the patient visit.

· Patient check in and check out. Verify patient insurance eligibility and complete demographic updates. Collect co-payments and patient payments on accounts.

· Answer phones and schedule appointments and procedures.

· Assist with patient questions related to referrals, authorizations, and insurance.

· Follow-up with patient intake information.

· Reviews estimated clinical and or surgical fees and coverage available with the patient/family, explaining the fees and reimbursement process per physician protocol in understandable terms.

· Works as liaison between patients and physician in providing estimates and collecting on surgical deposits; collects copayments and deductibles prior to surgery.

· Coordinate vacation and personal time of front office staff. Arrange for coverage.

· Answer questions and assist staff in resolving patient complaints or other issues.

· Assign staff workload and adjust as necessary. Working with the management team, ensure cross-training of all staff and rotate positions periodically to ensure all positions are effectively managed.

· Monitor the phone system to assure constant coverage, support proper patient interaction, and appropriately get involved when necessary.

· Understands CPT and ICD-10 coding. Submit charges to billing department.

· Communicate effectively via phone, fax, and other methods with insurance companies, specialists, providers, staff and patients concerning referrals and prior authorization of medical services.

· Assists with interviews to determine the technical and behavioral competencies of the candidate to ensure that the best from among the qualified candidates are being hired at the Practice.

· Assists the clinic team with administrative projects as directed, e.g. gathering data or analyzing accounts.

· Maintain forms and office supplies required for front desk activities.

· Participate in communication with the clinic and public relations programs. Attend office meetings and participate in special projects as assigned.

· Demonstrate a professional attitude and approach with patients while ensuring confidentiality of patient and practice information.

· Maintain strictest confidentiality.

· Adhere to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

· Exhibit flexibility in the workplace and take initiative in offering to help other colleagues when needed.

· Participate in performance improvement and quality assessment.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification as Medical Assistant preferred.
  • 3 years of experience working in a medical office setting.
  • Able to communicate with patients, providers and staff.
  • Make an excellent first impression and present the office in a positive, professional manner.
  • Able to multi task and accomplish much with many interruptions.
  • Knowledge of various health insurances and their requirements.
  • Aware of the need for discretion and confidentiality relating to patients.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 38 per week
