Job Overview:

The Independent Optometrist at Warby Parker is looking for a dedicated provider in the Walnut Creek store to provide exceptional patient care in a high tech environment. The right candidate must have exceptional people skills, friendly and energetic personality, and be a team player. Tech savvy applicants who are comfortable with EHR, iPad and computer charting preferred. Must be able to problem solve with minimal over sight and have confident clinical and optical skills. Position would be for 2-4 days/week (flexible for which weekdays and 1-2 Saturdays/month may be required).

Exam lane is equipped with a new Topcon AR, iCARE tonometer, Topcon Digital Phoropter, Keeler BIO, trial frame/lenses, diverse brands of contact lens trials and DrChrono EHR. Exam flow is 1 patient every 30 min, for a maximum patient load for 14/day, 60 min lunch break, and parking included. Compensation is base production. Hours are 10AM - 6:00PM last patient is scheduled at 5:30PM.

Duties:

- Conduct eye examinations to assess vision and ocular health
- Diagnose and treat visual conditions such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism
- Prescribe eyeglasses and contact lenses
- Detect and manage eye diseases like glaucoma, cataracts, and diabetic retinopathy
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries
- Educate patients on proper eye care techniques

Requirements:

- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited school of optometry
- State licensure to practice optometry
- Strong knowledge of ophthalmic equipment and procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems
- Experience with pediatric (ages 4 and up) and senior eye care is a plus
- Familiarity with medical terminology, ophthalmology, and sales of optical products
- Knowledge of DrChrono EHR or similar electronic medical records system is helpful
