Independent Electrical Contractors- Florida West Coast Chapter is Hiring an IEC Member Programming Coordinator and Chief of Staff Near Tampa, FL

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief of Staff and Programming Coordinator to join our team. The Chief of Staff will play a crucial role in supporting the executive director and ensuring the efficient operation of the organization and overall coordination of IEC Programming.

Duties:

  • Collaborate closely with the executive director to develop and implement strategic plans
  • Lead and oversee key initiatives, projects, and operations.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance organizational efficiency.
  • Manage day-to-day operations and provide guidance to various team members.
  • Support business development efforts and foster strategic partnerships.
  • Reports directly to the Executive Director.
  • Serve as the single contact for all Member questions and answers.
  • Lead daily team meetings.
  • Coordinate and ensure completion of the activities and projects of Training and Apprentice Managers
  • Coordinate the programming and duties of the Apprentice and Training Managers
  • Coordinate communication to and with members.
  • Ensure the Apprentice and Training Managers have the resources to complete their tasks.
  • Ensure all instructors are monitored, supervised, and evaluated with feedback for improvement.
  • Visit classrooms weekly to observe and monitor test retakes.
  • Assist with recruiting, screening, and training all instructors for the apprenticeship program.
  • Ensure that the Training Manager creates quizzes and tests for the Apprenticeship Program.
  • Ensure the Training Manager Schedules meetings with instructors to determine curriculum and lab needs.
  • Develop relationships with community colleges to train instructors in programmable logic controllers or arrange to have apprentices attend classes at the colleges.
  • Ensure that involvement and participation by member contractors on the Apprenticeship & Training Committee is improved
  • Ensure that the Apprenticeship Manager keeps that Handbooks updated, accurate and completed on a timely basis.
  • Attend job fairs, career days and other group functions to recruit apprenticeship candidates.
  • Assist with special functions, i.e. apprentice graduation, golf outing and others as assigned.
  • Ensure that the Apprentice Manager Answers student inquiries regarding learning programs.
  • Ensure that the Apprentice Manager Counsels and advises apprentices regarding absences, poor classroom performance and other issues pertinent to their success in the Apprenticeship Program, taking appropriate action as necessary, including recommending termination from the program.
  • Assure that the Apprenticeship Program meets or exceeds all standards as outlined in the Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training Standards.
  • Advise and provides supervisory support to systemic issues, brought to his/her attention by members
  • Advertise, recruit and encourage the development of programs that increase participation of women and other minorities in the Apprenticeship Program. Meet or exceed the minimum standards.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Qualifications:

  • Comfortable working as part of a team while supervising that team and holding them accountable
  • Proven experience in a leadership role, preferably in senior leadership or Chief of Staff position
  • Strong strategic planning skills with the ability to drive initiatives forward
  • Demonstrated expertise in process improvement, operations management, and project management
  • Exceptional ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders effectively
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as program and /or people manager and a minimum of two years of experience at a supervisory level or higher.
  • Valid motor vehicle license required.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills, attention to details, efficient time management and resources as evidenced by ability to set and meet clear deadlines; and excellent written, oral and presentation skills.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Windows, Microsoft Office-to include WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook and navigation of Internet.
  • Must be willing to travel and work evening hours and to be on call Monday to Thursday till 9pm.
  • Associate degree, or greater, from an accredited post-secondary institution preferred
