Independence Healthcare PC (IHPC) is a leading medical group in Soldotna Alaska featuring multiple healthcare specialties including hand surgery, orthopedic surgery and neurology. In addition, IHPC provides imaging services, and medical equipment dispensation (DME).

Job Title: PRACTICE ADMINISTRATOR

Reports to: SHAREHOLDERS

Executive Position: IHPC is recruiting a PRACTICE ADMINISTRATOR to manage our expanding practice. We are seeking an experienced candidate with demonstrated expertise in strategic, operational, and financial performance. Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgement, discretion, and decision making to achieve the practice’s objectives.

Successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the operations of our growing 4-provider outpatient surgical, medical and pain procedural clinic with 16 employees, ancillary services, procedure room for sedation and pain management, imaging center, and DME. The imaging center has the following operational services: digital X-ray, fluoroscopy, 3T MRI and extremity CT. Plans are underway to develop an IDTF (Independent Diagnostic Testing Facility). The practice has a regional draw and wishes to become a center for consolidation of broad-based medical care serving the surrounding communities.

Job Summary: Medical PRACTICE ADMINISTRATOR demonstrates exceptional leadership skills to meet the vision and goals of the organization for successful operation, and expansion of the practice. Assumes a proactive role in identifying strategic growth opportunities. Provides financial assessment of current and prospective service lines (pro-forma expertise). Oversees financial, operational, human resources, and compliance functions. Works with physician leadership and IT to establish an on-line presence using current social media practices.

Essential Job Functions:

· Demonstrated success in planning, leading, and managing day-to-day operations of a medical group practice.

· Proven leadership in identifying and assessing growth opportunities.

· Proven success in identifying opportunities for cost containment while ensuring the quality and safety of patient care.

· Advanced skills in business development and performance tracking including reporting on key performance metrics consistent with industry standards.

· Thorough understanding of revenue cycle management, including new payment models, payor contracting, coding, and billing.

· Responsible for managing outside billing company with billing, collections, and chart auditing.

· Maintains a healthy and timely revenue cycle.

· Supervises/executes bookkeeping and payables functions, QuickBooks framework.

· Facilitates development of annual capital and operating budgets.

· Responsible for Electronic Medical Records and Practice Management Systems (ECW).

· Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies governing health care delivery and the rules of accrediting bodies. Ensures that all activities of the organization comply with all federal and state statutes. Keeps abreast of pending legislation.

· Negotiates contracts including payor contracts, professional and general liability.

· Coordinates with IT vendors to ensure maintenance of hardware/software programs and cybersecurity.

· Implements and manages social media to enhance the reputation of the practice.

Education: Master’s Degree/MBA or MHA preferred. CMPE preferred.

Experience: A minimum of 5 years successful experience in management of a specialty or multispecialty practice of similar size. Experience in Orthopedics and ASC is a plus.

Skills/Knowledge: Successful experience in physician practice management, financial management, health insurance negotiating, and contracting for both fee-for-service and capitated products. Experience in marketing, billing, information systems, and human resources.

Qualities: Proactive, strong work ethic, and the highest degree of integrity and accuracy.

Compensation: Competitive compensation & benefit package commensurate with experience. Opportunity for incentive bonus. ($ 70,000-$ 100,000 per year)
