At Independence Academy, our mission is to cultivate the innate inquisitive nature of each child, to foster their physical, mental, and emotional development, and to provide rich and diverse educational experiences. We are a Montessori and Reggio inspired school that focuses on helping students develop the confidence to become mentors, leaders, and stewards of their environment. We are creating a unique culture within Independence and are looking for the very best applicants to help us foster this new community. Major areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:

• Hours: 7:45am - 3:15pm Monday through Friday
• Tree Room Assistant: 3-6 years old
• Understand and promote the school’s vision, mission, and goals to students, parents, and community.
• Assist lead teacher in lessons, working one on one with children, classroom supervision.
• Work with the community of administrators, teachers, parents, and students, in articulating and maintaining the integrity and scope of the Montessori and Reggio methods.
• Assist in classroom management with a student to teacher ratio of 16:2
• Working with students of varying abilities in the classroom.
• Participate in field trips, some extra curricular events at IA, and staff meetings
• Continuing professional development and participating in recommended conferences, training programs, courses, and other areas of professional growth.
