Reports to: Field Service Site Manager

Base Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 hourly, DOE

Position Overview:

The Field Services Technician, Level 1, plays a critical role in providing support for daily parts cleaning and preventative maintenance of ion implant equipment. This position involves inspecting parts, performing low-level assembly and rebuild tasks, and maintaining cleanliness and organization within the work area. As a field service technician, the majority of work is conducted at customer facilities, specifically within fast-paced semiconductor manufacturing environments. The Level 1 Technician collaborates closely with higher-level technicians and works under direct supervision to fulfill day-to-day responsibilities. Project objectives are dynamic and determined by the Site Project Manager in coordination with the customer's facility and operational requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

The individual in this position is expected to engage in the following work-related activities:

  • Strictly adhere to all IND and customer rules and protocols, including EH&S, QMS, HR, and task-related procedures, as well as customer expectations and facility policies
  • Wear and utilize company-provided uniform, personal protective equipment (PPE), and cleanroom apparel when appropriate
  • Read, understand, and follow approved specifications and procedures, ensuring that each step of the prescribed procedure is documented as complete
  • Process parts using various cleaning techniques such as mechanical cleaning, chemical cleaning, media blasting, and surface finishing
  • Utilize and maintain equipment required for production operations
  • Handle delicate source materials including high purity graphite, quartz, ceramics, etc., with care and precision
  • Assist with ion implanter preventative maintenance activities
  • Perform assembly rebuilds and conduct in-process and initial quality inspections
  • Identify and report non-conforming (NC) part defects as trained
  • Document work accurately using existing databases and specifications provided by the company or the customer
  • Demonstrate ambition and attention to detail in completing tasks according to customer requirements
  • Work in a cleanroom environment, wearing appropriate cleanroom garments, and strictly follow micro-contamination and copper segregation protocols
  • Understand and adhere to copper segregation protocols
  • Take accountability and responsibility for maintaining general housekeeping in work areas and facilities
  • Assist with any additional production or business tasks assigned by management
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment and be open to shift changes as required
  • Demonstrate dependability and maintain good attendance while working assigned shifts
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

The following qualifications are required to perform the essential functions of this position:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Fluency in spoken, written, and comprehension skills in English
  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED certificate
  • Strong self-motivation and commitment to fulfilling customer requirements
  • Adaptability to fast-paced work environments and changing demands
  • Basic mechanical understanding and awareness

Physical Requirements

The following qualifications are required to perform the essential functions of this position:

  • Ability to work while standing or sitting extended periods of time within an 8-10 hour shift
  • Ability to work in various physical positions, such as bending, kneeling, stooping, and reaching
  • Adequate vision, including close-up and distance vision, to perform tasks and read technical documentation
  • Ability to frequently lift or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to tolerate hold and cold temperature working environments while wearing PPE when required
