Job Type: Part time/flexible hours

Description of Organization:

Inclusion Pathways mission is to integrate people with special needs into the community.

We serve individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in New Jersey once they reach the age of 21.

At Inclusion Pathways we believe that there are many opportunities to be part of a community. We offer many different social, recreational and employment programs to promote and facilitate community inclusion. We help each family that we serve find the right path so that they can live an enriched life.

Inclusion Pathways is opening a Community Center in Red Bank, New Jersey to create employment and social opportunities for individuals with special needs where they can interact with the public.

At our community center, we will offer robotic building workshops that will combine elements of art, graphic design, and engineering to enable our participants to design and build action figure 3D printed robot kits. Our intention is to target children and families to participate in our workshops and employ individuals with special needs to assist with facilitating the workshops.

Workshops can be differentiated by the type of robotics and the complexity of the pieces. Motors and switches can be added to increase functionality. Participants can learn how to configure a remote control to enable the robots to perform different actions. These actions can include anything from driving, picking up objects and interacting with other robots. Participants can learn how to code and program simple commands for the robot using a programing language called Scratch.

While our focus will be robots, we want to offer something for everyone. We will also offer workshops that make different products with our 3D printers. Some examples include board game pieces, charms for necklaces and bracelets, STEM Kits and miniature table games. Additionally, we will offer workshops that involve the use of other equipment to cater to customers who are not interested in 3D Printing such as button makers, laser cutter/engravers, and sublimation printers.
