JOB SUMMARY:

To be a team player on the Personal Training team. Contribute to increase the profitability of the club by recruiting new SAQ, PHIIT, and personal training clients and retaining the current clients. Provide effective training to clients, developing a quality club environment and ensuring excellent customer service. To motivate each client to reach their individual goals by providing nutritional coaching, scripted workouts, and monthly fitness evaluations. Maintain a Company certified continued education program. Support policies and procedures established by the Company. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Maintain consistent, productive SAQ, PHIIT, and personal training sales focusing on obtaining monthly club gross, down payment, and EFT goals (as outlined in Assistant Personal Training Sales Manager Compensation Plan document)
  • Set a minimum of 10 appointments daily for introductory consultations
  • Work no more than 38 hours per week (Schedule may change depending on the time of year, when GM is on vacation, breaks, or absent), all scheduling is subject to change at any time.
  • Responsible for meeting monthly club quotas and personal sales quotas through direct selling and motivation of subordinate Team Members.
  • Help with EOD Reports set/show/close and total PT gross/net/eft at the end of each working day
  • Participate in conference calls as directed by the Area Personal Training Director 
  • Complete ALL client tracker sheets ensuring they are filled out accurately, legibly, and correctly
  • Ensure ALL clients are accurately tracked electronically in the computer on a daily basis---all trainer pay sheets are printed off and turned into corporate every day.
  • Hire and manage Certified SAQ and Personal Trainers (keep proof of current certification on file in the PT office-and adhere to certification expiration policies)
  • Assist in helping with SAQ and PT in your club ensuring that trainer books are organized and ALL SAQ and PT schedules are always legible and filled out two weeks in advance
  • Ensure there are no independent trainers in the club-All trainers must be actively employed by the company to train clients in our facilities
  • Assign each new client with the trainer of their choice, if there is no preference a trainer will be assigned to the client based on their individual fitness needs and goals
  • Assist in meetings with all SAQ and PT trainers ensuring they are following trainer policies and guidelines and ALL clients are being trained professionally and effectively
  • Attend and participate in required meetings and trainings as needed.
  • Be pro-active throughout the club providing assistance when needed regarding any health and wellness concern
  • Promote Personal Training, Supplements and NFC1.com by promptly contacting interested members, assists with marketing strategy, keep clubs’ bulletin boards current and program information well distributed
  • Support and maintain the overall club’s cleanliness, operational and safe environment by inspection of equipment and request needed repair of equipment; ensure Fitness team maintains all training areas neat and tidy.
  • Ensure training of SAQ and Personal Training team on new programs by initiating Company Certified continued education programs; provide proper training of new personal trainers through a job training program.
  • Ensure ALL team, including yourself, adhere to the company uniform policy.
  • Call and confirm appointments each night and instruct your prospective clients to bring in a list of the foods they have eaten over the last 24 hours and a list of their top three fitness goals
  • Create, document, and implement one-on one/group (SAQ, BOOTCAMP) exercise programs based on the realistic needs and goals of clientele.
  • Must be on time (15 mins before each class) and teach all classes Monday-Saturday if the SAQ trainer is absent.
  • Carry out fitness assessments and evaluations with all clients every month.
  • Educate clients on basic exercise physiology.
  • Provide safe and effective demonstration of all fitness equipment and exercises.
  • Provide safe and effective exercise and spotting techniques as well as nutritional recommendations.
  • Maintain a daily account of client exercise programming and progressions.
  • Develop and implement workshops in conjunction with the club General Manager, Personal Training Sales Manager and/or Area Personal Training Director i.e., weight loss, core training, nutrition etc…
  • Ensure a clean and safe environment for ALL club members by personally racking weights, encouraging members to rack weights, and put-up dumbbells, stability balls, and mats in their designated area.
  • Recruit new personal training clients and retain the current clients by making phone calls, setting up a body fat testing table, or hosting a workshop for club members. Trainers are required to set a minimum of 2 appointments per week.
  • All voicemails, emails, etc from management and clients should have a response time of less than 24 hours.
  • Attend 2 Group Fitness formatted programs quarterly and or any other group exercise programs provided by the facility.
  • Report any misconduct regarding facility policies to the appropriate management hierarchy. 
  • Educate yourself on all facility emergency procedures and be able to respond quickly in case of an emergency.
  • Attend and participate in required meetings and trainings as needed.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS – WHO YOU ARE:

  • National Certification through one of the following certifying bodies: NSCA, NASM, NESTA, AAAI, or ACSM. Current CPR certification. It is your sole responsibility to maintain and provide current certifications and updated information to the human resources department.
  • Possess basic computer skills and basic writing, spelling, and math skills.
  • Highly organized and possession of good planning skills.
  • Strong service orientation and desire to deliver an outstanding member experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work professionally and effectively with people at all levels of the organization with physical locations spread throughout the portfolio
  • Work quality must be highly accurate, timely, and in accordance with company policy and procedures with a high regard and propensity for safety
  • Excellent task completion and follow-through skills and ability to maintain focus in a sometimes hectic and evolving environment
  • Must demonstrate professionalism, cooperation, and ability to work well with all parties
  • Ability to travel occasionally for company meetings and based on business needs
  • Willing and able to work a flexible shift: evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Bilingual skills a plus
  • CPR/AED certification required within first 60 days of hire
  • Passion for fitness/health/wellness industry

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently required to walk and stand up to 8 hours/day and/or sit for an extended period of time. Team members may be exposed to cleaning chemicals or airborne particles and will be required to wear designated PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as directed. Team members are occasionally required to use hands and fingers for handle or feel; occasional reach, push and pulling with arms and hands; occasional climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and occasional reach and twist, including side-to-side movements. The team member may be required to occasionally lift, carry or move up to 25 pounds and may seldom be required to lift, carry or move 26-50 pounds.
