In His Care Early Education Program (IHCEEP) is looking for Lead and Assistant Teachers that will be responsible for assisting the Childcare Administrator overseeing the daycare facility and programs to ensure that children have a safe and fun environment to learn and socialize with others. Each day you will have the pleasure to create a safe, healthy, structured, and nurturing environment. Your customer service skills will be used to bond with the children, and families while maintaining professional relationships with your staff and communicating effectively with parents.

  • Meet the individual needs of children
  • Develop Lesson plans that meet the needs appropriate to the child’s age and developmental level including an ongoing child assessment
  • Prepare and submit written transition plans for both children and families for children transitioning within or transitioning out of the daycare as planned or applicable
  • Plan and implement activities for the development of self-esteem, social skills, and encourage exploration and learning
  • Communicate progress and/or daily activities with parents and the Childcare Administrator
  • Maintain Confidentiality as required
  • Report any suspected abuse as required
  • Participate in staff and training meetings
  • Participate and engage in daycare community activities as applicable
  • Stay current on all certifications and training required
  • Meet all applicable state and/ or licensing regulations for Ohio
  • Assist the Childcare Administrator in ensuring the center operates under current ODJFS licensing rules and regulations by maintaining compliance at all times
  • Assist with establishing and maintaining compliance with ODJFS licensing rules and regulations including the Step Up to Quality rules to work towards obtaining a Star 5 rating
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude with staff, children and parents
  • Maintaining open communication with parents and helping to coordinate parent-teacher conferences as applicable
  • Other duties that may be designated from time to time as needs arise.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree (AA) or higher in an approved related field Preferred
  • CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Active Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential, or 2/4 year degree in early childhood or related field
  • A minimum of 1-year professional childcare experience in a daycare atmosphere
  • Lift a minimum of 40 pounds to your waist regularly, and work indoors or outdoors (often on the floor)
  • Ability to sit (reading time) for extended periods and interact fully with the children keeping them safe, and engaged
  • Highly professional and dependable
  • Pleasant demeanor and an outgoing personality

Rate of pay depends on years of experience and academic preparation.

Additional requirements

Must complete a BCI & FBI fingerprinting on or before hire

Have a Ohio Professional Registry (OPR) profile on or before hire

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.50 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
