In-Depth Engineering Corporation seeks Mechanical (Structural) Analysis Engineers to support our rapidly growing engineering work for the Missile Defense Agency’s Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) element of the Ballistic Defense System (BMD). Engineers will support the GMD Weapon System (GWS) Hardware Engineering team's design efforts working within an Agile environment.

The work is performed at our customer site in Huntsville, Alabama.

Duties: 

• Evaluate structural design solutions via analysis for multiple Ground Systems (GS) IPT hardware systems and their structural interfaces with facilities.
• Perform structural analyses IAW industry and military standards, evaluating structural hardware design efforts, scheduling, and planning required tasks, leading small teams, and writing reports to support milestone reviews.
• Participate in team scrum meetings and internal/external demos, and documenting progress on team dashboards 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: 

• Must have a current active DoD security clearance at Secret or higher
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace civil Engineering
• 5 years of related professional experience
• Prior experience with the design, test, and/or integration and deployment of mechanical and structural components, systems, or subsystems
• Understanding and application of industry engineering technical standards; demonstrated structural design experience and impact assessment.
• Requirements-driven structural hardware design, test, and evaluation
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis and Modeling theory and application using industry standard structural analysis software
• Experience performing static structural analysis and dynamic structural analysis of composite or metallic parts.
• Experience in writing technical reports, test procedures, and specifications.
• SolidWorks, NX and Teamcenter experience, DOORS and/or CAMEO exposure
• Experience with classified test systems or systems subject to cyber security policies and risk management framework (RMF)
• Familiarity with MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-1366, MIL-HDBK-1791, UFC 3-301-02, UFC 3-301-01, ASCE 7, ICC-ES AC 156

Preferred Qualifications:

• Generate engineering documentation such as technical drawings, specifications, and test reports.
• Mentoring and cross-training junior engineers
• Experience using analytical software tools, such as MATLAB or Python
• Experience with mission critical and safety critical systems, components, etc.
• Familiarity with Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Core Standards: MDA QS-001-MAP, MDA-QS-003-PMAP, MDA Instruction 5000.20-INS (ETR Process)
• PE License in Civil/Structural Engineering
