Our continued growth has created the need for an Electrical Drafter to join our Design Team.

Our Electrical Drafters perform a crucial role in our company, producing detailed electrical schematics and panel layout drawings from plans and specifications provided by customers and equipment manufacturers. Working with Design Engineers to complete a detailed control panel consistent with In Control standards is critical to ensure efficient, high-quality purchasing, assembly, and PLC programming for our customers. To be successful, candidates should have experience with CAD drafting software, rigorous attention to detail, exceptional communication skills, an aptitude for learning new equipment and design standards, and the ability to self-manage work with limited supervision.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Support Design Engineers in the creation of electrical schematics, panel layout drawings, master input/output lists, and bill of materials utilizing AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Compile document packages that include control panel drawings, component cut sheets, and relevant documents to be submitted for engineering review. Process revisions in accordance with engineering comments.
  • Complete As-Built and As-Started Drawings in a timely manner to support project schedules.
  • Create Operations and Maintenance Manuals as required by projects.
  • Plot control panel layouts in 1:1 scale and work with Production to resolve issues during assembly.
  • Work collaboratively with Sales, Purchasing, Production, and Engineering to ensure efficiency and quality.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to read and comprehend plans, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Experience using AutoCAD Electrical, or equivalent software to create electrical circuits, schematics, and panel layouts.
  • Able to prioritize work and manage time while being mindful of purchasing lead times and project deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills to support oral and written communications with coworkers, customers, construction contractors, consulting engineers, vendors, and other partners.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Adobe, and reporting software.
  • Minimum of a two-year degree in relevant technical field or three years of experience in electrical drafting and design.
  • Familiarity of UL508A and UL698A standards for control panel design and assembly.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
