Compensation: $180,000 - $210,000 / year
DescriptionAs a Manufacturing Directorat Impulse, you will be responsible for driving manufacturing capabilities for upcoming spacecraft builds. Hire, manage, and grow a budding team of engineers. Work closely with cross-discipline engineering teams to implement new manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. Responsibilities
- Manage team of manufacturing engineers across cross functional disciplines (machining, composites, additive, manufacturing development, etc
- Grow team of engineers to support new programs, products and processes (components, thrust chambers, turbopumps, tanks, harnessing, tubing, welding, etc.)
- Inter-operate with engineering design teams to iterate and improve products maximally through development and into production
- Drive the expansion of capabilities and capacity on the shop floor
- Work hand in hand with supply chain to determine make vs. buy decisions and drive new capabilities internally or offload commodities to external vendors
- Bachelors' degree in mechanical, aerospace engineering or related field
- 7 years' of demonstrated hands-on manufacturing
- 5 years' of leading high-performing teams
- Demonstrated ability to thrive within an ambiguous environment
- Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional departments
- 10 years' of hands-on engineering within an aerospace environment
- Demonstrated ability to hire, train & manage engineering teams
- Demonstrated experience with new product introduction
- Demonstrated experience with setting up new manufacturing processes from scratch
