This is a direct hire, full time salaried position with the client company.Job DescriptionWHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:For starters, you will be working alongside some of the smartest engineers, retail experts and data scientists in the world and will work closely with the product and development teams to develop Software-as-a-Service data processing applications. You will be programming on the back end data processing systems using Java and technologies such as Hadoop, Pig, Spark and distributed relational database systems. You will be most comfortable in this role if you enjoy data and mathematical algorithms and have worked with extremely large data sets.QualificationsRESPONSIBILITIES:Implement highly scalable data processing systems using technologies such as Hadoop MapReduce, Pig, Tez, Spark, and distributed relational database systemsBuild and execute test plans for performance and data accuracyContribute to backend documentationRemain current on new development technologiesSKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:3 years working as a Java developer or similar development role2 years working with Hadoop, Pig, Hive, or similar technologies, including cluster administration1 years working with relational databases such as PostgreSQLExcellent knowledge of algorithms, algorithm analysis, and data structuresExperience with statistics and data analysis (e.g., in R) highly preferredExperience developing SaaS applications a plusExperience building REST APIs in Java (JAX-RS/Jersey, Dropwizard, Spring) or NodeJS a plusModerate to advanced knowledge of multiple programming languages such as Perl, Python, JavaScript, Lisp, C , C#, or Bash, encompassing different programming paradigms a plusKnowledge of HTML, JavaScript, and other web technologies a plusExperience with Linux preferredAdditional InformationEDUCATIONBachelor’s degree or greater preferably in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information SystemsNOTE - Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. on a W2 Salary basis.
